谢丹阳高级宏观博客讲坛到此结束,就我本人而言,似乎有点不舍。但还是打住为好。希望能有更多的学者以多种形式将经济学网络教学继续下去。 通过这个讲坛,认识了一些新同学、新朋友。我很开心。有些同学通过电邮寄来一些习作和研究课题的初步设想。只要是所涉的内容比较具体,而且在我认为能有所帮助的前提下,我一般都作答。这种交流也是我所渴望的。我所不太擅长且不乐于参与的是过于笼统的讨论。 多谢诸位跟我一路走来。也希望大家能将你认为有帮助的部分介绍给同学、朋友、甚至推荐给那些尚未涉足于经济学的学生。不胜感谢。 下面是几条提纲 ( PDF ),意在帮助大家回忆所讲内容。如果看到这些要点,你马上知道在哪里讲过,那么你学得很扎实。否则,请重温相关内容。 祝大家奥运快乐!

Use the excel file attached on Hong Kong Economy to run the same test as reported in Table 3 (Equation 3.1 and 3.2) in Hall (1978 JPE). Furthermore, will lagged current account balance (as percentage of GDP) help predict current consumption in addition to lagged consumption? Do the tests support or reject the PIH? Use the same data set on Hong Kong. Examine whether consumption is too smooth following the methodology of Campbell and Deaton (RES 1989). In particular, Fit a model of the labor income (their equation 6). What is the corresponding A(L) ? Produce an equation similar to their equation 7. Assuming r=0.02, find the standard deviation implied by the PIH. Is the actual consumption smoother or more volatile than predicted by the PIH?

第十七讲 PDF 特例及解法沿自王鹏飞。 This is a very simple model in which labor-leisure decision is assumed away --- leisure does not enter the utility function. As a result, the equations are much simpler but the idea and methodology of RBC are nicely kept. I urge all of you to work out this simple example, step by step. A complete mastery of this example will drastically improve your understanding of RBC models. The example was produced in Scientific Workplace. But I suggest that you replicate the results here using either Matlab, Mathcad, or Mathematica. I met Pengfei in 2002 when he came from CCER to sit in my class at Tsinghua University.
